The bassoon swab can clean both the boot joint and the wing joint, only one swab is needed to go through the entire body of the instrument. The silk bassoon bocal swabs are designed to pulled all the way through the bocal. There is an extra cord attached to the wide end of the swab as a safety feature so that if the swab were to become stuck it could be pulled back.
All Hodge silk swabs are made from 100% silk and are available in performers black, royal blue, burgundy, forest green and deep purple. Silk is very absorbent, soaking up water in instruments better than any other natural material including both cotton and chamois. Most uniquely silk is also very compressible, making it possible to pull through instruments with large variations in bore size. In addition, silk is lint free.
All new instruments come with a minimum 24 month warranty on repairs and we will take care of all servicing and cleaning within the first 12 months upon request. All second hand instruments come with a 6 month guarantee from the date of purchase.
