The Jo-Ral FR-1A Non-Transposing Aluminum / Copper French Horn Straight Mute is made of spun aluminum, and has been tested to perform evenly in all registers.
It’s perhaps the most widely used because of its ability to complement a host of musical styles, the French Horn straight mute allows for a free-blowing sound in all registers, providing a consistent flow quality that allows musicians to achieve a delicate, controlled sound without transposing registers.
The Jo-Ral FR-1A Non-Transposing Aluminum, Copper and Copper Bottom French Horn Straight Mute is made of spun aluminum/copper, and has been tested to perform evenly in all registers. The Copper versions darken the tone, making it a more versatile mute for chamber groups, smaller ensembles and Jazz applications. Jo-Ral mutes also feature neoprene-enhanced composite cork pads that provide extra durability. The result is a more pliable cork that grips well and doesn’t dry out, become brittle or break off—so it lasts longer while easily accommodating fine adjustments for a perfect fit.
All new instruments come with a minimum 24 month warranty on repairs and we will take care of all servicing and cleaning within the first 12 months upon request. All second hand instruments come with a 6 month guarantee from the date of purchase.
