Hire an oboe today – please don’t hesitate to contact us to find the perfect instrument for your needs. We have oboes from Junior models right up to full professional keywork systems

• Each instrument is sent out with a Richard Craig Woodwind Soft Oboe reed and all the necessary cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Consortium Music hire instruments are all quality tested before they are sent out and have been maintained and tested to the highest standards.
• Hire for a minimum of 6 months and we will take care of all maintenance and cleaning for the duration of the hire.
• Return at any time after 6 months, or upgrade to a Howarth S20c or Howarth S40c.

Howarth Junior Oboes are the perfect start for any young budding double reed player. Junior Oboes are pitched in C, the same as full system models and have a full chromatic range over two octaves. Howarth Junior Oboes have covered holes for small hands reduced keywork for a lighter instruments and are designed for students as young as 7 to start playing comfortably from day one. Howarth Junior oboes are made from quality African Blackwood or Grade A ABS plastic (Junior PLUS) upon request.

Howarth S20c Oboes are specially designed with reduced keywork and covered holes for young and beginner players of all ages. S20c hire oboe bodies are made entirely from seasoned African Blackwood and come with optional top joint linings. A simplified Conservatoire System has been developed by Howarth to give students the best introduction to technique fundamentals and a focus on sound production. Howarth S20c student oboes have a Left-hand F, Articulated C, Bb vent on the bell and third octave.

Howarth S40c Oboes are a full system oboe for young and experienced players. The Howarth S40c has G#-A trill and Ab-Bb trill, double C-head and third octave.

Howarth S50c Oboes have a full professional Gillet Keywork system. They have a lighter body than most professional models to keep them light enough for smaller players and young talent.
