The Powell Sonare 905 Model is the introductory professional flute, featuring an Aurumite 9K lip plate (9K Rose Gold Exterior fused to Sterling Silver Interior) and Crown on a hand-cut sterling silver Signature II headjoint, and an Aurumite 9K barrel on a sterling silver body. With silver plated nickel-silver keywork , Straubinger Phoenix pads, French open holes, pointed arms, 10K White Gold springs, B Foot, Offset G, Split E Mechanism, it is hand-finished by the expert Powell flute makers in the Boston workshop. This elevated attention results in incomparable finesse and ease, unmatched by any other flute in the 905's price range.
The Signature Type II Cut uses a broader lip plate for a more traditional "feel" on your mouth. The sound retains the core of the Powell sound with a touch of brightness adding some additional character to the sound, and the Aurumite lip and crown bring added depth and colour.
