The business quickly outgrew the shared space, and their recent relocation to the Myer Centre on Adelaide’s busy Rundle Mall provided the opportunity to dramatically increase retail services in addition to a spacious workshop and machine room.
Consortium Music is a meeting of minds, skills and experience, as the name suggests, and continues to grow under the flagship trading names, Richard Craig Woodwind, Joanne Bridgman Repair and Gustafson Custom Horns.
Richard Craig - 2020
With over a century of combined experience in different areas of the industry from sales, manufacture and band instrument repair to custom handcrafted design and fabrication, Consortium Music aims to offer the most comprehensive high quality service for woodwind and brass players of all ages and abilities.
The new workshop offers the opportunity to develop and manufacture new products including custom clarinet barrels, brass mouthpieces and cor anglais crooks. We look forward to sharing other products and our own instruments soon.
"Richard’s woodwind repair work continues to be outstanding. Once again he has resurrected my old and tired Cor Anglais to a point where it feels almost new again. Precision re-corking, adjustments, thorough cleaning etc etc, it’s real quality work. Thank you."
“Full overhaul of old Puchner Bassoon, including a rotten boot joint and complete pad replacement. Excellent work, on time and with solid communication – very happy, thanks Richard!”
"Just wanted to report in on my horns since you worked your magic a couple of weeks ago. They’re playing beautifully! The alto feels like it’s straight out of a time machine from 1966/7. I’m having to get to know it as a “new” instrument ‘cause now I don’t have fight it anymore."
"Thanks for everything, you are a real artist."
"I cannot thank Jo enough for the wonderful job she's done with servicing my professional Miyazawa flute. I can't recall ever having felt so pleased with the result of a service before!"
