About Howarth

Howarth of London is proud to present the new LXV and XM Professional model Oboes.
Howarth oboes are famous for their incomparable quality and reliability, and for the exceptional ease and playing comfort of their mechanism. The Howarth LXV and XM Oboes join the tradition of their prestigious XL Oboe and presents a totally new sound concept, developed in collaboration with some of the world’s most eminent oboists.

The tone quality of these new oboes is distinctly European in style, and has been achieved through a radical new design of the body of the instrument, the mechanism, and the bore. The Howarth XM is slightly lighter in weight  and produces a particularly rich, flexible sound with excellent projection.

The Howarth LXV, with its thicker top joint, has tremendous focus and power for the most demanding orchestral player. Both new models are also available in cocbolo wood, which gives a warmer, more flexible sound.
